Detailed description
A duo to elevate your table
This set of two Morta knives transforms every meal into an exceptional moment. Presented in a handcrafted wooden box from Charente, these knives immediately catch the eye and reflect the outstanding craftsmanship of our knife makers.
Materials and design
These Damascus steel table knives are adorned with a subtle blue trim in vulcanised fibre, adding a touch of modernity to a decidedly high-end and timeless object. Vulcanised fibre is a composite material made from cotton fibres (sometimes cellulose fibres) that durably withstands temperature variations and has particularly high mechanical resistance. The blade, made from N690 steel and DE 45ncd16 folded over 120 layers, offers a hardness of 61 HRC. Sharpening is easy with a honing steel or a natural whetstone.
Care advice
A little common sense and a lot of love: Like all knives made with natural materials (wood, horn, etc.), avoid contact between the handle and water. Regular contact between your knife and the palm of your hand will give it a patinated, authentic appearance that will make your knives unique. These knives are not designed for the dishwasher. Simply clean the blade with the soft side of a sponge after use, avoiding any contact between the Morta and water.
Any questions?
Can we visit the workshop ?
Yes. We gladly welcome you from Monday through Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in September to June and to 7 p.m. in July and August.
You will discover our unfiltered work environment: noise, dust and good spirits. Nothing is staged or orchestrated. One of us will give you a presentation of the material, the extraction techniques and the different product models here.
What are the differences between the steels ?
With a bit of common sense and lots of love 😉
Avoid submerging your knife. For added safety, simply avoid the handle coming into contact with water, because like wood or horn, Morta is a natural material that does not like water.
You can rub a little beeswax over the handle to brighten up its colour subtleties. Place a drop of oil in the mechanism if necessary. But generally speaking, normal use requires nothing in particular in terms of care.
