Detailed description

It’s amazing how a blade treatment can completely transform a knife!
Here, the Morta back lock is fitted with a blade treated with a cutting-edge ceramic coating in a deep, intense black. These coatings are notably used in aerospace and defense industries.
On a Morta knife, the match seemed obvious. Sleek and elegant, this deep black gives it both a chic and rock ’n’ roll appeal.

Thus, we find all the classic features of the Morta back lock knife, but enhanced with the ceramic treatment.

Compact Design and Locking Mechanism

With its reduced size, it slips easily into any pocket. Its folded steel body provides excellent durability in everyday use.
The back lock mechanism makes this Morta knife a solid ally for all kinds of adventures, including culinary explorations.

Blade Quality and Aesthetic Design

The blade rotates on a 304L steel pivot, while two Teflon washers ensure smooth and pleasant movement. The blade closes safely without any special precautions, as a fixed stop prevents the edge from touching the mechanism hidden inside the handle.
Its aesthetic approach is contemporary with minimalist curves, yet deliciously retro thanks to its steel body and the prominently displayed, fully assumed back lock.
The Sandvik 14C28N steel, darkened by the ceramic treatment, offers a hardness of 59/60 HRC for an exceptional edge. This material is distinguished by its ease of sharpening and outstanding resistance to corrosion, ensuring durability and superior cutting performance for every use.

Brand Identity Features

Of course, despite this radical evolution within the Morta folding knife range, we still find the brand’s aesthetic codes: a brass lanyard tube, brass rosettes securing the blade, a handle covered with Morta, and generously sized blade dimensions.

Customization Options and Clip Sheath

Engraving on the knife’s spring is offered free of charge, allowing you to add a personal touch. You can also choose to add initials or a personal inscription on the pump release button for a discreet and elegant result. As for the clip sheath, it is available as an optional extra for €40, featuring black stitching and sized specifically for this knife. This versatile sheath allows you to carry your knife safely in a pocket or bag thanks to the clip on the back.

Over time, this Morta will prove to be an ideal companion for all uses.

Any questions?

Can we visit the workshop ?

Yes. We gladly welcome you from Monday through Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in September to June and to 7 p.m. in July and August.

You will discover our unfiltered work environment: noise, dust and good spirits. Nothing is staged or orchestrated. One of us will give you a presentation of the material, the extraction techniques and the different product models here.

What are the differences between the steels ?

With a bit of common sense and lots of love 😉
Avoid submerging your knife. For added safety, simply avoid the handle coming into contact with water, because like wood or horn, Morta is a natural material that does not like water.
You can rub a little beeswax over the handle to brighten up its colour subtleties. Place a drop of oil in the mechanism if necessary. But generally speaking, normal use requires nothing in particular in terms of care.

Where is my order ?

We demand 5 to 15 days lead time to ship your order.
In fact, if you order a knife that we have already finished it can be shipped within 48 hours, sometimes even before. But if your order concerns a knife that we propose on the website but don’t have in stock, we then require the lead time of 5 to 15 days.
In certain exceptional cases, like after being featured on TV for instance, the lead times may be significantly extended. In such cases, we will never fail to so inform our customers.
If you have a deadline (birthday for example), don’t hesitate to contact us directly to find out the availability of a particular knife. We will make the necessary effort to deliver you before your deadline.

What are your delivery lead times ?

As explained above, that depends on models and whether we have the necessary parts to make your Morta knife. Generally speaking, the knives are all available in the workshop, so you should count a few days for receipt at your home or workplace.

Are the knives guaranteed ?

Yes. Unconditionally. If you encounter any kind of problem with your Morta knife, don’t hesitate to return it to us and we will gladly repair it.

Where can i see your knives ?

On the website www.couteaux-morta.com or in our workshop in Saint-André-des-Eaux (44).
We do not have retailers. (apart from the restaurant La Mare aux Oiseaux in Saint Joachim, in Brière).

Where can I find the promotional codes ?

If you find them please let us know, because we believe there has never been any promotional code for Morta knives 😉

Do you take students on internships or work placements ?

We cruelly and chronically lack time. Taking on an intern or trainee demands patience and time that we don’t have unfortunately. So we cannot organize internships or work placements for the moment.
