Detailed description
When we finished the Tourbé, we immediately pictured its potential with a Damascus blade.
The result far exceeded our expectations!
This model brings together, quite remarkably, the notoriously demanding world of Morta extraction and the refinement of a magnificent 120-layer Damascus blade.
The work-hardened brass bolsters give the handle excellent durability, and the contrast with the Morta produces a particularly elegant look. Crowned with a superb Damascus blade, this sturdy and proud knife will not go unnoticed!
A fixed stop system lets you fold the knife without any worry of damaging the cutting edge.
With its generous grip, this knife will quickly become your everyday companion. Whether you are whittling a piece of wood in tough conditions or joining you on culinary adventures, the Tourbé is designed to be your sharp-edged partner for every day.
Naturally, you can choose it with a full Morta handle or enhanced with mammoth ivory inlays.
And, as always, you can personalize your knife with a complimentary engraving.
Any questions?
Can we visit the workshop ?
Yes. We gladly welcome you from Monday through Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in September to June and to 7 p.m. in July and August.
You will discover our unfiltered work environment: noise, dust and good spirits. Nothing is staged or orchestrated. One of us will give you a presentation of the material, the extraction techniques and the different product models here.
What are the differences between the steels ?
With a bit of common sense and lots of love 😉
Avoid submerging your knife. For added safety, simply avoid the handle coming into contact with water, because like wood or horn, Morta is a natural material that does not like water.
You can rub a little beeswax over the handle to brighten up its colour subtleties. Place a drop of oil in the mechanism if necessary. But generally speaking, normal use requires nothing in particular in terms of care.
Where is my order ?
We demand 5 to 15 days lead time to ship your order.
In fact, if you order a knife that we have already finished it can be shipped within 48 hours, sometimes even before. But if your order concerns a knife that we propose on the website but don’t have in stock, we then require the lead time of 5 to 15 days.
In certain exceptional cases, like after being featured on TV for instance, the lead times may be significantly extended. In such cases, we will never fail to so inform our customers.
If you have a deadline (birthday for example), don’t hesitate to contact us directly to find out the availability of a particular knife. We will make the necessary effort to deliver you before your deadline.
What are your delivery lead times ?
As explained above, that depends on models and whether we have the necessary parts to make your Morta knife. Generally speaking, the knives are all available in the workshop, so you should count a few days for receipt at your home or workplace.
Are the knives guaranteed ?
Yes. Unconditionally. If you encounter any kind of problem with your Morta knife, don’t hesitate to return it to us and we will gladly repair it.
Where can i see your knives ?
On the website www.couteaux-morta.com or in our workshop in Saint-André-des-Eaux (44).
We do not have retailers. (apart from the restaurant La Mare aux Oiseaux in Saint Joachim, in Brière).
Where can I find the promotional codes ?
If you find them please let us know, because we believe there has never been any promotional code for Morta knives 😉
